Week 1. New Media film 4 comparing to film 1 #edcmooc

I watched  New Media  film ( film 4) comparing it to  "Bendito  machine III"  once more time. The scene is  a real city, not cartoon city; Monsters ( similar to technology  monsters of film 1)  are hovering  over  empty streets, they  occupy  abandoned  houses.  No man's reaction  at all.  Man has abandoned his mind; he doesn't  even  treat  technology  as if it was a God, comparing with film 1.

This is an absolutely a pessimistic point of view;  at least in film 1 there are some  vultures  to clean all this mess . Film 4 describes a situation where there is no exit from this misery, there is no future.

I do not agree  with this kind of pessimism  and  I have a simple reason for this. People   have children, that  is in our nature. Children are the future, they are the  Hope.  In film 1 there is a child getting close to a machine, just before the end of the film. That is a sign of hope in my opinion, because child is curious and wants to see what  this" God " is from a close distance.

I  would say ironically that there would  be no technology to occupy  us without children and young people, because someone has  to  keep on working  for  producing  technology. That is, someone has to play, to think, to learn. It is well known nowadays that  playing is a great way of learning.  Children  are absent in film 4.

I would say that we are not going to experience a situation like that in film 4 because  we have  all the tools needed  to avoid it. That is, we have children, we have the hope of keeping our minds alive.
